The axle spindle castle nut 3/4″ holds the brake drum hub, idler hub and bearings on the trailer axle. Before inserting the cotter pin through the castle nut, its important to tighten the nut against the bearings. Tightening the nut against the bearings will ensure the they’re seated correctly in the race. Several castle nut thread sizes available. 1″-14 castle nut is the most common.
